A Spectral Analysis of the Internet Topology

چکیده
Abstract— In this paper we investigate properties of the Internet topology on the AS (autonomous system) level. Among techniques in spectral graph theory, we find the normalized Laplacian spectrum ( ) of AS graphs 1) unique in spite of the explosive growth of the Internet and 2) distinctive in setting AS graphs apart from synthetic ones. These properties suggest that is an excellent candidate as a concise fingerprint of Internet-like graphs. Further analysis into the theory of leads us to a new structural classification of AS graphs with plausible interpretations in networking terms. Extensive analysis by ASlevel data supports this claim. More importantly, along the way, new power-law relationships are unveiled, giving rise to a hybrid model encompassing both structural and powerlaw properties. We think that these new insights may have a profound impact on future protocol evaluation and design. Keywords— Internet topology, network modeling, Laplacian eigenvalues, power-laws, AS domain connectivity.

On two problems concerning the Zariski topology of modules
Let $R$ be an associative ring and let $M$ be a left $R$-module.Let $Spec_{R}(M)$ be the collection of all prime submodules of $M$ (equipped with classical Zariski topology). There is a conjecture which says that every irreducible closed subset of $Spec_{R}(M)$ has a generic point. In this article we give an affirmative answer to this conjecture and show that if $M$ has a Noetherian spectrum, t...

In this paper, we employ spectral graph theory as a tool for analyzing the Internet topology. We show its importance in understanding dynamical behavior of complex networks. We also provide an overview of various approaches dealing with synchronization in complex networks.
متن کاملA NEW MEMETIC SWARM OPTIMIZATION FOR SPECTRAL LAYOUT DESIGN OF BRACED FRAMES
For most practical purposes, true topology optimization of a braced frame should be synchronized with its sizing. An integrated layout optimization is formulated here to simultaneously account for both member sizing and bracings’ topology in such a problem. Code-specific seismic design spectrum is applied to unify the earthquake excitation. The problem is solved for minimal structural weight un...
متن کاملPRIMARY ZARISKI TOPOLOGY ON THE PRIMARY SPECTRUM OF A MODULE
Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity and let $M$ be an $R$-module. We define the primary spectrum of $M$, denoted by $mathcal{PS}(M)$, to be the set of all primary submodules $Q$ of $M$ such that $(operatorname{rad}Q:M)=sqrt{(Q:M)}$. In this paper, we topologize $mathcal{PS}(M)$ with a topology having the Zariski topology on the prime spectrum $operatorname{Spec}(M)$ as a sub...
